On February 19, 2019 in Lisbon, a meeting took place between representatives of the Organizing Committee of the Global International Pedagogical Forum IPF∙2020 and the President of the Associacao de Professores de Historia Mr. Miguel Barros. A representative of the University of Porto also took part in the meeting, who specially came to the meeting with representatives of the Organizing Committee of the Global Forum due to the very busy schedule of the Organizing Committee. Associacao de Professores de Historia, together with the University of Porto, is ready to submit to the Organizing Committee a list of the best teachers in Portugal and to provide financial support for the trip to the cities of the forum. The participants of the meeting discussed the problems of teaching history in different countries, including in terms of interpretation of history, the role of governments in shaping the content of textbooks, and the need to form students’ critical thinking. Associacao de Professores de Historia will speak at the Global Forum about their experience of changing methods of teaching history in Portugal in the face of reduced hours and an increase in the teachers’ workload.
