Merits:

-Constructivism
Learning is an active, contextualized process of constructing knowledge
rather than acquiring it.
- Constructive alignment
All components in teaching system – the curriculum and its intended
outcomes, teaching methodologies, assessment methods- are all aligned to
each other. We can do this in 4 steps
1) Defining the intended learning outcomes. (These learning outcomes
should be S.M.A.R.T. S- Specific, M- Measurable, A- Achievable, R-
Relevant/Realistic, T- Time Oriented.)
2) Choosing teaching activities
3) Assessing students learning outcomes (Formative and Summative
assessment)
4) Modification
- STUDENT-CENTERED LEARNING
Variety of educational programs, learning experiences, instructional
approaches, and academic-support strategies that are intended to address
the distinct learning needs, interests, aspirations, or cultural
backgrounds of individual students and groups of students.
- MULTI-SENSORY APPROACH
Kids learn in many different ways. Some do best with information they
hear. Others may find it easiest to learn by seeing something.
Multisensory teaching isn’t just limited to reading and listening.
Instead, it tries to use 3 senses. Visual, Hearing, Tactile (Touch) and
Kinesthetic (body movements)
Teaches to more than one sense at a time. The instruction gives students
more than one way to make connections and learn concepts.
-Project Based Learning
In Project Based Learning, I try to make learning come alive for
students. They demonstrate their knowledge and skills by working on a
project. As a result, students develop deep content knowledge as well as
critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills in the context
of doing an authentic, meaningful project.
