With this presentation, I intend to reflect on the potentialities of the use of educational biographies in the ongoing formation of teachers. The basic idea is that the learnings made by the teacher throughout his education, especially in the school, before being a teacher, are very important resources for the exercise of his professional teaching career. In other words, when entering the classroom as a teacher, the brain recognizes this space and mobilizes all the experience it has done throughout the school life and makes it available as a resource for teaching. Hence a revisiting of these experiences can add value to a more conscious teacher action in the classroom. The experiences of Mozambican rural schools in the exploration of educational biographies have revealed that there are cycles of reproduction of teaching practices, for example violence, which are repeated over generations of teachers. It is my conviction that working with the student's past school of the teacher, it is possible to illuminate the causes of certain conceptions and teaching practices, in the sense that they are aware to their practitioners, thus opening some opportunities for reflections and small changes in the teacher's action of the teacher.

Com esta apresentação, pretendo reflectir sobre as potencialidades do uso das biografias educacionais na formação contínua dos professores. A ideia de base é a de que as aprendizagens feitas pelo/a professor/a ao longo da sua educação, em especial na escolar, antes de ser professor, constituem recursos muito importantes para o exercício da sua carreira profissional docente. Podemos dizer, por outras palavras, que ao entrar na sala de aulas como professor, o cérebro reconhece esse espaço e mobiliza toda a experiência nela feita, ao longo da vida escolar e disponibiliza como recurso para a acção docente. Daí que um revisitar dessas experiências pode constituir uma mais-valia para um agir docente mais consciente na sala de aula. As experiências por mim feitas em escolas rurais moçambicanas na exploração de biografias educacionais, revelaram que há ciclos de reprodução de práticas docentes, por exemplo de violência, que se repetem ao longo de gerações de professores. É minha convicção de que o trabalho com o passado escolar de aluno do professor, é possível iluminar as causas de certas concepções e práticas docentes, no sentido de elas serem conscientes aos seus praticantes, abrindo assim algumas oportunidades para reflexões e pequenas mudanças no agir docente do professor.

My central expectation is to start from the communicative resources offered, to gain inputs to use research and in educational practices. I would especially like to interact with pedagogues from various contexts in order to learn from their practices.

A minha expectativa central é a de a partir os recursos comunicativos oferecidos, ganhar inputs para usar a pesquisa e nas práticas educativas. Gostaria sobretudo de interagir com pedagogos de vários contextos com vista a aprender das suas práticas.
