Professor, clinical scientist. Made the first observations describing the recovery of antigen-specific CD4 + T cell responses in patients receiving powerful antiretroviral therapy in the context of an early phase trial of an HIV protease inhibitor, ritonavir. Director of the Kirby Institute at the University of South Wales in Sydney. Head of the Kirby Institute's immunovirusology and pathogenesis program and head of infectious immunology and inflammation at the University of South Wales Medical school. As a clinical academic at Sydney's St Vincent's hospital, Professor Kelleher is responsible for clinical care for patients with HIV infection and autoimmune diseases, as well as overseeing the New South Wales state reference laboratory for HIV.
