There is a saying which states that learning is a continuous process which means that one does not stop acquiring knowledge, this is why there is need for me and other teachers to participate in the 2019.
The pedagogical forum will be a platform for education professionals to exchange their ideas, methods, experiences and search for solutions to global challenges in order to promote high quality education for future generations. The reason I want to attend this international pedagogical forum is to acquire different ideas and also share ideas in order to promote high quality education.
The other reason I want to attend the 2019 international pedagogical forum is that I feel there is need to move from a kind of education which is only theoretical in nature to a kind that is more practical and equip learners with appropriate skills and knowledge that would help them in society even after completing their secondary education. There is need to help a learner and prepare them for society after school, many youths believe in a blame game theory in which they blame the government for their own sufferings, so these pupils need to have skills and knowledge to make them useful in society.
As we shall meet with business men, we shall be able to learn different business ideas which will help our learners to have such business skills in their lives. Apart from that we shall be privileged to meet government officials who are the implementers of the different ideas that will help in the promotion of high quality education.
As we meet with the best teachers of the world we shall be able to share different types of teaching methods that will help in the promotion of high quality education. My participation in this forum will not only benefit me as a teacher but it will be of great benefit to the learners and the nation at large.
The education system in my country is more theoretical than practical which is a challenge on the part of a learner, as a teacher to overcome this challenge I believe in the saying which states that it is easy to remember what you have practiced than just listening to the teacher. I provide a platform for the learners to research and discover things on their own before being taught by giving them a lesson or topic to research on. In order to promote high quality education i ask the learners question so as to understand their level of understanding.
As a physical education teacher I impart skills and knowledge in learners that will help them even as they go out in society. I impart skills in football, netball, first aid and many others which will be of great help to them. In my teaching career have been able to identify talent in these potential future generation and have been able to identify slow learners and help them through remedial work, these are some of the achievements have made in my teaching career, that’s why I feel my participation in the forum will be of great help.
- I expect to learn and share different ideas, experiences and knowledge from education professionals. This is so because different methods will help in the promotion of high quality education in my country.
- I also expect to learn different skills from business men and professors so that i can be able to motivate young people to solve global problems and inculcate innovative ideas for the benefit of my learners and my nation at large
- I expect to share some of the challenges we are facing with different people and find solutions on how to overcome these challenges to promote high quality education.
- I also expect the government officials to help us implementing the different ideas and business men to help us with some business skills so as to have a citizen who will be self-sufficient and not always depending on the government for jobs. We need a productive and innovative youth after completing secondary education.
In conclusion my participation in this forum will be of great benefit to me as a teacher, the pupils and my country Zambia because the different ideas that will acquire will be shared to the learners and teachers. I feel there is great need to participate so as to overcome the challenges we are facing in the education sector.
