Kipling confesses (1902/1988, p. 3) “I keep six honest serving-men (They taught me all I knew); Their names are What and Why and When And How and Where and Who”. These “honest serving-men” have been used to form the basis for inquiry in many disciplines. As a researcher in the field of written corrective feedback, I will approach these six questions to help EFL teachers get a gestalt view about the issue of written corrective feedback practices through bridging the existing gap between what is there? and what should it be? My speech will help EFL teachers from all over the globe to practice informed pedagogies of written corrective feedback. Additionally, my participation will take the form of a professional development workshop for EFL teachers.
