Merits:

I am the founder and current National President of Computer Educators Association of Nigeria, an umbrella body of all computer educators in Nigeria. The implication is that I have comprehensive knowledge of computing education issues in the entire country and can authoritatively speak on them. Additionally, any beneficial knowledge or information garnered from a program like this upcoming one, would efficiently be transmitted to all sections of the country using the instrumentality of the association. Nigeria is a developing country and is delving into technological areas that would help in remolding the economy and standard of living of her citizens. To thrive effectively with these technologies, her citizens need to be taught how to use these tools which are usually computerized for effective production. Therefore, computing education teachers like me are strategically placed at different educational cadres in the country to ensure that the appropriate computing skills are transferred for efficiency in the workforce. I am also involved in teacher preparation programmes where pedagogical skills are transferred to potential teachers for efficient transference of computing skills.

Furthermore, in order to maintain efficient instructional delivery strategies and relevant content dissemination across the country, the Computer Educators Association of Nigeria (CEAN), was founded and organizes seminars and workshops for members on current methodologies for teaching computing. Being the current President of CEAN, we also organize a national conference yearly where research findings on computing education are delivered and discussed for equipping computing teachers for better performances. Decisions bordering on the right learning environment and welfare of members are taken at the conferences and communicated to appropriate authorities for relevant interventions. I am equally an editor of the annual publication of the Association – Computer Education Research Journal (CERJ).
