On February 7, 2019, online negotiations took place between the representatives of the Organizing Committee of the Global International Pedagogical Forum IPF∙2020 and the National Coordinator of Albanian Coalition for Education, Mr. Linda Pino. The participants of the meeting discussed the problems of the educational sphere in Albania and the possibility of taking these issues into account when preparing the Forum program. Among these topics are the low level of professionalism of teachers in view of weak financing of education in the country (2% of GDP, of which 80% goes to teachers ’salaries), outdated standards and a low threshold for admission to universities in Albania, the necessity to pay for textbooks and a high level of bullying among schoolchildren, both physical and psychological, which leads to a high percentage of schoolchildren who drop out of school, especially children with special needs (46%). Following this open conversation, Ms. Pino expressed support for the organizers of the Global Forum, one of whose goals is to bridge the gap between education levels, ensure access to high quality education for all people and eliminate illiteracy and promised to assist in finding the best teachers in Albania to participate in the forum for free.
