In Cuba, since the end of the last century, studies related to the introduction of the use of computer technology as a means of development in the educational process in Preschool Children have begun, the research results of which allowed its generalization in all educational institutions of the country and in the “Educate your Son” program.
These results, focused from a scientific point of view of the educational process, supported the theoretical-methodological and functional ergonomic conception applied in the introduction of the use of computer technology at these ages, which takes into account the physical and mental characteristics of children from four to six years. It also made possible the development of interactive task systems to be used from the evolutionary study of sensory, general intellectual and computer skills.
The inclusion of information technology in Preschool Children has constituted a novel experience, due to the truly scientific principles and conceptions that support it in correspondence with the aspirations of achieving the maximum possible integral development in these age groups and due to the massive nature that it has accomplished.
MSc in Educational Sciences, mention in Preschool Education, with 45 years of experience, all dedicated to working with children from birth to six years, held for more than 20 years, the position of Early Childhood methodologist, at the of municipality and ministry. Researcher at the Latin American Reference Center for Preschool Education, CELEP, currently part of the Central Institute of Pedagogical Sciences. Author of the book “Informatics as a means of development in Preschool Children. Co-author of programs, methodological guidelines and workbooks in the area of Knowledge of the World of Objects and their Relationships in this educational subsystem. She formed the scriptwriters for the development of the educational software collection "A Play" and was in charge of the project. She currently works as a teacher at the Cinesoft Computer and Audiovisual Company and directs the development of technological resources for these age groups.
